Kim Delaney is an American actress who is best known for playing Detective Diane Russell in ABCs series NYPD Blue for which she won an Emmy Award. She is also known for her performances on the drama show All My Children Philly CSI: Miami as well as Army Wives. Delaney is the sole child of a United Auto Workers senior executive and domestic worker was raised with her four brothers and sisters. While she had a childhood dream of becoming a journalist, it wasn't until the time of her high school days that Delaney began to model. Following her move away from New York City and gaining experiences as a commercial model at New York did she achieve an aspiring career as court reporters. Her first role as an actor was as a teenage innocent in All My Children, a 1981 soap opera. Since then Delaney has been featured in many film and television dramas. Like her career, her personal life hasn't been a success or happy one. She is gifted and gorgeous, has struggled with drinking before. Her marriages have also failed two times. She lost custody of her son in 2005.
