Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, better called Ari Lennox, is an American singer and musician born in Washington, D.C., who was the first woman to sign with J. Cole's Dreamville Records record label. Her first EP, Pho on October 21 2016, was released on Dreamville Records. She began to gain fame. Shea Butter Baby released her first studio album 7 May 2019. Ari Lennox first posted her music on the internet in 2012. The singer released her debut album Ariography and debut mixtape in 2013 with Five Finger Discount. In 2014, she released new music through the internet including Bound. The song was included in Omen's Elephant Eyes, on Sweat It Out on the 21st of July the 21st of July, 2015. J. Cole had her submit her tracks to the Dreamville Team later in the year, as he wanted Rihanna to work alongside her on some of the songs. It was announced on the 8th of December that she had signed with Dreamville Records. Backseat was the result of her participation to The Revenge of the Dreamers II album. On October 21 2016 she released her debut EP entitled Pho. Ari Lennox then appeared as the opening performer for J. Cole on his song Change in 2017. She also was a part of the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour. In 2018, she went on to appear on two of her songs along with label-mates EarthGang and EarthGang on Nothing but the Best and Bas on Icarus. The debut album of Ari Lennox Shea Butter Baby was released on the 16th of July, 2018. The first single, called Whipped Cream, from the album was released on the 5th of September, 2018 and featured a a music video. Then, on the 9th of November 2018, she released another two singles called 40 Shades of Choke (and Grampa). In November 2013 she released her debut album No One and Pedigree. Shea Butter Baby. Shea Butter Baby later made appearances on the Creed II album soundtrack alongside Cole. She released this single to promote her debut titled Creed II on 26 February 2019. This track, which was released with a video uploaded to YouTube 20 February 2019 has been viewed over 3 million times in the first 7 days. As a support act She toured with 6LACK in December of 2018 for the From East Atlanta With Love Tour.
